Student Teaching: Middle School Artwork

I just finished up a Landscape Unit with 7th and 8th grades. Students learned about basic spatial concepts used in landscape as well as the history of the genre.
For Part 1, students learned about the art and history of Chinese Landscapes and made a simple Chinese inspired landscape as well as a collaborative class scroll.
For Part 2, students studied contemporary watercolor impressionist landscapes and learned how to simplify a photograph while focusing on atmospheric perspective to create their own landscape.  Students used many watercolor techniques, such as salt, blotting, wet into wet, graded wash, masking and dropping in color.
These middle school students achieved wonderful results,
so I want to share their beautiful work here.
