Dogs on the Beach #7

8 x 10" acrylic
View in Etsy Shop
This is the 7th painting in the series, Dogs on the Beach.  I decided to paint the same little pug from painting #2 from the side this time. I love his curly tail and the way he plodded slowly along behind his owner. This one is being set aside for consideration
for my group of four I need to submit to NHAA.

Dogs on the Beach #6

8 x  10" acrylic
This is my 6th painting in the series of "Dogs on the Beach."
Although dogs are supposed to be on leash while on the beach, I enjoy watching them when their owners let them run around. This painting is of one such group, and it was comical to see them interact and enjoy the open space.

The Old Red Barn

12.5 x 10" watercolor
This old barn stands at the end of a field, showing its age with its missing and faded boards.
I think it is beautiful though - this bright red structure amidst a field of yellow,
silently telling a story of a different time.

10.5 x 7.25 watercolor
I recently made a trip to upstate NY and came home with many pictures of beautiful open spaces to paint. I snapped pictures of farms with their wide fields, old barns, rusty tractors and a few curious cows. I chose this scene to paint first, because I love the way the land looks like it is layered in colorful stripes that lead up to a few lonely trees and sky.

July Reflections

16x20" acrylic on 2"gallery wrapped canvas
This Camden Harbor painting is all about the colorful reflections, the midsummer light and the interplay of dark and light. I enjoy creating compositions that are challenging
and that keep the viewer's eye moving around the painting.
The straight and curved lines of the ropes and rigging contrast with the ripples in the harbor water to create a lot of movement in this piece.

Portsmouth Tugs Print

14x14" giclee print
I finally got around to getting more prints made of one of my favorite paintings.
I have often watched the Moran tugboats in Portsmouth, NH hard at work
guiding large vessels in and out of the harbor in all sorts of New England weather.
Here are three of the four tugs, docked in the harbor on a beautiful summer day.

Boat Houses

7.5 x 11.5" watercolor
This colorful row of boat houses reside at the end of the town pier in Canandaigua, NY. I visit this spot often when I am vacationing here and always enjoy seeing the colorful reflections in the lake water.
